Last Day to Sign-Up – Short Story Challenge

Are you a procrastinator? Been thinking about signing up for the Short in Six Short Story Challenge, but haven’t yet? Well, you have one LAST day … and this isn’t an April Fools’ Joke.

Seriously, we’re starting April 2 because superstitious me didn’t want to kick off on April 1. There still is room, and there still is time.

Join published authors Louisa Bacio and Nikki Prince in the Short in Six, Short Story Challenge. That’s a short story in six months, under guidance, with a support group, check-in dates, critique groups and prizes!

At the beginning of the workshop, each contributor will focus on a story, genre and potential publisher in a database. On a monthly basis, we’ll check in with word count, and submission progress. (Ideally, if the participant has a blog, we also can feature a blog-hop of the progress.)

Need more? Over the last four years, Nikki and I collectively have sold and published more than 40 short stories and novellas. (That’s not counting the full-length books.)

Note: Only serious sign-ups, please. We’d like a high completion and success rate. That means, we’d rather you not lurk.

Ready for a Spring Fling?

Hmmm … nothing more delicious than a rejuvenation of life! Welcome to the Spring Fling Blog Hop, which was perfect timing since today’s also the release of my new erotic paranormal romance, Her Wolf Ménage.

There’s a reason why the Spring Equinox was chosen as release day. The “Spring Awakening” plays a role in the novel. If you have time, join my FB party on Thursday, March 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. PST for additional fun.

To celebrate, here are the top 5 things I love about Spring:

5). The daffodils – With our warmer temperatures, they’ve already started to bloom.

4). The weather – People think of SoCal as being hot all year round. For us, it definitely gets cold in the winter. Often, we refer to the June Gloom with its overcast murky skies. But spring is perfect.

3). Monarch butterflies – They are pure magic, and a sign that fairies exist. We plant milkweed, which attracts the Monarch caterpillars, so spring equals flying beauty.

2). Spring break – Do you remember that feeling? Having a full week off from school, when you don’t have to think about anything? Oh, it’s bliss. It’s not too bad as a professor, either. (And students think we live to be on campus 24/7. BTW, I like working with students. I’m not one of those jaded professors. But home time is good, too).

1). Making out in the park or on the beach or under the boardwalk – How come as adults, we don’t seem to make out in the public quite as much anymore? Oh, maybe because we have homes (privacy).

Tell me: What’s you favorite thing about Spring? You’ll be entered into my drawing for this lovely goody prize (U.S. shipping only. If it’s an international winner, I’ll give away a $15 Amazon gift card and eat the cookies myself!) Remember to leave a valid email address. (Winner will be chosen on the 24th).

To enter the Grand Prize Giveaway, fill out the Rafflecopter box and press enter! (One entry per person!) Jane Wakely will choose the winners on Monday, March 24 using Random.org! Once the winners are chosen, she will email you the results, post them on the blog and email the winners!
