Welcome to the Autumn’s Harvest Blog Hop. We've got some fun planned over this long weekend.
When thinking about Autumn, and my favorite thing about it, of course the first person who comes to mind is my daughter, who happens to turn 10 this Saturday -- right over the Blog Hop weekend. Having a daughter in double digits is something else.
While writing my latest book The Wolfe Pack, I wanted to feature a fall holiday that wasn't Halloween or Christmas. The good thing about being a writer is you can make up pretty much what you want. So I created the Fall Festival. One activity is stringing together the magnificently colored foliage and making a variety of necklaces, crowns and other wearable items.
During the festival, the members of the Wolfe Pack also pair up for the winter season in order to stay warm in those cold months (and to start on those springtime babies).
The idea of making necklaces of leaves, similar to stringing popcorn, intrigues me, and when my family heads to the mountains for Thanksgiving I just may need to try it. I imagine one must be extremely soft with the leaves since they can crumble easily.
