Thrilled to welcome two special guests: BK Walker, who is discussing her new release Night Secrets, and Stacey Kennedy, who provides insights into her paranormal Whatnots & Doodads. Both talented authors delved into their writing process a bit, and took on the explorative question of if they believed in ghosts. Read ahead to discover how they answered. With Halloween just a hop, skip & a jump away, the hairs on my arms are already standing to attention.
Get ready to plunge into paranormal with Walker and Kennedy, as part of the Romancing Your Dark Side Paranormal Tour.

BK Walker currently lives in Central Pennsylvania with her three children, Brittney, Hunter and Danny, her dogs Rancid, Sadie and Haven, a cat named Whiskers and a goldfish named Fat Albert. She has always had a love for reading and writing, even as a child she created stories reading them to her stuffed animals. With a love for vampires and werewolves, you will not be disappointed with her writing as she mixes up the paranormal juice. Aside from writing, BK also supports Indie Authors organizing virtual book tours, helping them to market and promote their work. Her book review site, BWB Reviews, is just another small way she contributes to the reading world. With many stories floating around in her head, she writes when she gets the time between working as a Pediatric Home Care Nurse, being a single mother, and continuing her college education in Graphic Art Design. When BK's not fighting with her muse, Mouthy Mary, who has much to say way too often, you will find her at a baseball game with her children, or relaxing with a good book in her hand.
What is your favorite scene of the book?
I would have to say when Keara first enters Night Secrets and knows someone is watching her, but can't quite figure out who it is. Then when she meets those lapus blue eyes, and her skin crawls with excitement...yeah, that's my favorite scene.
What was the most difficult part to write?
I would say her experiencing her first shift. Writing a shift for a werewolf is easy, we deal with that more often. To write a shift with a creature you seldomly see, well that's a big challenge. You have to try and put yourself in their shoes to know what they're going through, and in order to describe it thoroughly. When you don't read much about such a shifter, it makes it a bit more difficult to go through the motions.
How do you hope readers feel when they’re done reading your book?
You know how you get that fuzzy, tingly feeling all over when you experienced your first kiss ever? That's how I hope readers feel and will be looking to read more of my work.
Do you believe in ghosts? Any paranormal experiences you’d like to share? If not, any techniques you use to tap into the writing?
I do believe in ghosts. When I was a kid, we always knew our house had a spirit. My uncle lived there before he died. When we moved in, things would always happen in strange ways. Objects would be moved, money would go missing, and everytime I spent the night away, and come home the next day, my bed would be wet. I know, your thinking, "So what?" Well, I had bunk beds and it was always just the bottom bunk, the one I slept in that would be wet. We think the "spirit" slept in my bed when I wasn't there. I've also been in a cemetary at night and have seen spirits by gravestones, and I almost ran into a spirit when I lived with my parents. That was a little freaky as I've not dealt with spirits in a long time, I quickly turned on the light and she was gone.
Favorite place to vacation?
Tennessee. It was so beautiful there. Though I'd really love to go to Ireland.
Favorite flavor of ice cream or dessert?
Cookies and Cream. The BEST!
What are you working on now?
I'm finishing up Broken Captive, about a girl that is broken from abuse and held captive to her self mutilation, and the struggles she faces while seeking love and normalcy. I'm hoping to have it released by September. I'm also working on another paranormal romance titled Serpent Seekers - a clan of vamps all noted for their serpent pendants, seek new vampires as they try to take over the underworld. When the latest victim is partially turned and left on her own, she becomes the most sought after vampire by the Clan Leader. She's not going to take it sitting down though. I'm not sure of that release date yet, and I'm also working on High Heels and Handcuffs (giggling) and To Love A Wolf, a short story erotica.

What is your favorite scene of the book?
Instead of explaining my favorite scene, I thought I’d show you it. I love the passion, playfulness and humor that these characters provided while writing their story.
“I’ve never … been with a demon.” She looked at the bulge in his pants. “Are … is everything the same?” Who knew what he had in his jeans?
His deep chuckle sent shivers down her spine. “My body is human in every sense--you won’t find a devil’s pitchfork in my pants.”
She laughed nervously. Well, what could he really expect? Her mouth parted to answer him, but she decided action would speak her point well enough. She closed the distance and kissed his mouth. If she’d doubted how much he wanted her, she didn’t now--his kiss couldn’t lie. His hands tightened around her face as his mouth encouraged in sync with hers. Tongues entwined, lips pressed together firmly. Every touch sent tingles straight to her center and caused heat to build between her thighs.
After a final swipe of her tongue, he sucked her bottom lip into his mouth and bit down very gently. He released it, still holding her face in his hands. His eyes bore into hers in a way no man had ever looked at her before. His eyebrow arched up suggestively. “Bryanna, are you ready to play with fire?”
“Holy earthquake, am I ever!”
Wow! Can I keep reading more? How about the opposite, what was the most difficult part to write?
To be honest, I didn’t have any problems writing this story. It was a total blast from the very first word!

Whatnots & Doodads
By Stacey Kennedy |
|
I hope they smile. This story is a humorous romance with paranormal elements. It’s a novella, so it’s a quick read that’s meant for you to take to the pool with you. If anything, I hope it gives the reader an escape from everyday life and a way to get lost in another world for a little while.
Do you believe in ghosts? Any paranormal experiences you’d like to share? If not, any techniques you use to tap into the writing?
Yes, I believe in ghosts. And no, I’ve never seen one. If I did, I’d run and hide. They scare the willies out of me. But I love the paranormal element in writing. It’s fun to make things spooky.
Favorite place to vacation?
Anywhere! With two small children, vacations don’t happen very often. So, as long as I get the chance to sleep in and relax, I’m ecstatic.
Favorite flavor of ice cream or dessert?
Ice cream—mint chocolate chip. But honestly, I don’t think there’s an ice cream flavor that I wouldn’t love! I’ve got a huge sweet tooth.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m working on Bite Me, I’m Yours. It’s a paranormal romance that is set to release in a month or two. Lots of humor, mystery and of course, steamy romance.
Thank you both again for visiting. Readers -- any questions?
