June Gloom

In Southern California, the first summer month of June is better known for its "gloom," rather than for turning on the heat. Most visitors to the state don't realize this temperature fact and leave disappointed.

Earlier this month, we hosted a family of five from Denmark. Yep -- two adults and three more kids (in addition to our two) for two weeks. Despite the overcast skies and a major remodel of the kitchen, dining room and 2nd bath, we survived.

Now that the guests have left, the weather's heating up, the building is done and summer has officially begun, we're ready to get into the spirit of vacation.

Any hot trips planned? The end of July will bring me to RWA Nationals in Orlando. And, talking about the heat ...
