The Ultimate Worst Gift
My hubby happens to be one of the worst gift givers. I’ve
tried asking for certain gifts – such as sexy lingerie from Victoria’s Secret, and
he comes home with flannel.
Oh, he’s bought me some gorgeous items – a diamond tennis
bracelet I lost during my second pregnancy – we went out to his work-sponsored
event at a soccer game when I was supposed to be home on bedrest. Don’t blame
me for my mental state!
How about chocolate? One Easter morning brought the most
infamous surprise – a chocolate cross from Wal-Mart. Hmm. Now, my one of my favorite
candies is Reese’s. I would have loved a giant bunny or a peanut butter egg. A
cross? Isn’t it sacrilegious to eat a religious symbol?
Now, he gets even more specific instructions, such as
circled items in a catalog. Maybe I should enlist the help of Amazon’s Wish
List, but really that takes so much of the surprise out of gift giving.
The greatest gift of all – his love, and patience, especially when I share "secret" facts such as this! Oh, and our two “love trophies,”
his description – our daughters.
Tell me: Got a best or worst gift?

THE WOLFE PACK
Silver
Ashe can’t let go of the desire to find her birth father and the urge to join a
pack. Against the wishes of her brother, Trevor, and her vampire-lover, Nick,
Silver leaves New Orleans for the woods of Louisiana.
As
the guard and a dominant member of the Wolfe Pack, Viktor isn’t too sure of the
city-dwelling stranger who comes trespassing. With the lack of female
werewolves, Viktor soon sees Silver as a potential mate. Too bad she’s already
spoken for by a bloodsucker.
Trapped between worlds, Silver’s faced with
choosing between the lover she’s known most of her life, and the budding
relationship with Viktor, where her future may lay. It’ll take some sweet
talking and a whole lot of loving for Silver to find her place within the pack.

The worst gift I ever received was from my MIL when she bought me hand lotion. Hello!! I SELLL awesome skin care. My second worst gift came from my MIL again who bought me some bizarre watch - Hello!! My husband made a huge deal of buying my Movado. I sent her home with both gifts. I think I got an electric knife instead of the watch. Now i just asked her no to buy me anything, and I will return the favor. My husband, on the other hand, is an awesome gift giver. I know my Chanel necklace is in the house somewhere.

Best gift were my healthy little twins. It wasn't a Christmas gift, but they were in me during Christmas and I'm eternally grateful. I'm not sure if the handful of earplugs I got the next Christmas was a good or a bad gift, but it sure was handy!

Hm. Best or worst gift? Worst gift was socks, and I laughed so hard when my mom gave them to me that I didn't have the heart to say that it was because I thought it was a dumb gift. LOL She gave them to me every year after that. I miss getting socks from her.

One of my favorite Christmas Romance Books is The Untamable Rogue by Annette Blair! The story is about Ashford Blackburne Fifth Earl and he has to get married and get his willing bride pregnant before Christmas or his grandfather won’t let him inherit his money. Ash truly needs to inherit the money because his late father squandered it all away and he is taking care of his mother. After getting stood up at the alter, again, Ash and his friends go to the local pub where the owner plays a drunken Ash in a card game…his consolation prize is the pubs daughter Larkin, who he wants to get ride of. Ash has to learn to forgive…Larkin has to learn how to trust…can two completely different people find love together. This is a cute, extremely funny, romantic story with a surprise Christmas ending!

ReplyDeleteThe worst gift I have ever received would have to be the year my mother-in-law gave her daughter and I all the same presents just in different colors. She and I kept trading out if the other color suited us better. It was, to say the least, odd.
