And People Wonder How …

** For the ParaGoddess Hop, scroll down or click http://louisabacio.blogspot.com/2014/10/youre-witch.html

Deep breath. *exhale*

It’s one of those insane days. Hubby’s at a local conference, which keeps him away. For the first time, I’m having to drop off both daughters at different schools, about a half hour away from each other. And work. And activities. And … everything else.

Stress Relief -- and I only ate
one-third. It's more of the
idea/taste.
Here’s a look at my day:

7 a.m.       Up and start nagging to get the other two awake. Feed animals, and make lunches.

8:15 a.m.   Drop oldest daughter off at middle school. She doesn’t start until 9 a.m., but on a tight schedule, we need to be early.

8:45 a.m.   Drop youngest at elementary school. (Late since she starts at 8:30)

** Target interlude since we have two birthday parties on Saturday, and honestly I need to pick up Halloween candy and two pumpkins.

10 a.m. – Noon           Limited work at day-job, but manage to edit a 20-page report.

1 – 2:30 p.m.              Teach college class. Today, was a “free” day but I was supposed to be available for consultation. Notice that “was.” For the first time, after driving for 35 minutes, I was unable to find a parking spot. Seriously, they’ve been doing construction and who-knows-what, and I gave up and sent the class a note. Most had already submitted work via email.

** Stop at pet store for bunny food, and I get 30 minutes “extra” at home to eat and play on Facebook.

3:40 p.m.                    Pick up oldest from school.

** A tiny bit of breathing space at home to do dishes, etc. before …

5:30 p.m.                    Pick up youngest from gymnastics

6:30 p.m.                    Drop off youngest for piano lessons

** Are you hanging in there yet? Tired?

7 p.m.                          Piano done, and I swear we’re getting Thai tonight! Then it’s homework, and hopefully pumpkins and … some quality time?

Somehow, I need to squeeze in: Posting in three online classes, finishing a novella before NaNo (it’s so close), and writing some blurbs, promotional materials.

On that note, it’s almost time to get out the door.

Send some energy!

Living a life of bitter seclusion, Griffin Tago is a mentally and physically broken puma shifter without a family, through no fault of his own.

After her father's murder, her mother and sister fall apart. Dani decides to make a life for herself in a little town called Pepper Valley, Colorado.

Griffin's best friend talks him into having a beer at his sworn enemy's place…Great Scotts Bar & Grill. After a short run-in with "Great Scott" himself, Griffin's friend distracts him by pointing out a brunette beauty standing at the jukebox. One look at her takes Griffin's breath away.

Dani looks past the wheelchair and sees the strong handsome man with long dark hair and black tattoos.

Their physical desire leads to a quick mating. Can Dani not only heal Griffin's body, but his soul?

“You’re a witch!”

Welcome to my stop on the ParaGoddess Blog Hop. Thank you to JoLynne Valerie for inviting me.

“You’re a witch!”

Ummm, maybe not the best way to start a palm reading at a friend’s birthday party in a backyard. I shuffled in my seat, and glanced around to see if anyone else had heard the exclamation.

“And that’s why no one understands you …”

OK, I have to admit that throughout my life, I’ve had some, ah, let’s call them extrasensory powers. Dreams that come true. Sensing of spirits. Intuition of moods. As a teen, I did exercises to tap into the energy, and never felt alone. The creepy-crawling feeling of being watched, or walking into a visually empty room and knowing something else was there freaked me out, so I locked it down. Oh, it was still there, I just didn’t let myself be as open to it.

The years passed, and then I had children. What to do when your 3-year-old tells you that there’s a “ghost in my room?” I couldn’t deny the occurrence, especially when our next-door neighbor had recently overdosed on prescription pain meds and alcohol, after getting hurt at work, and suddenly, she was hearing “Paul” outside. (I swear before that happened, she didn’t know his name.)

One night when she screamed continuously, I brought over my step-grandmother. I told her to do “whatever was necessary.” She blessed the house with holy water from three Catholic churches, and sprinkled it on the ground between our two homes. Everything stopped after that.

Since then, I’ve been more open. I write within the paranormal realm because I believe that there is so much more out there, and it’s difficult to discount what we don’t know, for sure. At conferences such as Authors After Dark, I’ll pull out my Runes and do readings. For the most part, the subject finds a meaningful connection with their question.

Tell me: How about you? Do you believe in things that go bump in the night? Do you have a spooky story to share?

Leave a comment, and a valid email address, and you’ll be entered into a contest for a virtual reading with me, and an electronic copy of your choice of one of my books. The winner will be chosen at the end of the tour, Sat. Nov. 1.

Thanks for stopping by.

If you haven’t grabbed it yet, make sure to pick up my free paranormal romance “A Date with Death.”
Available on Kindle through Oct. 27.

A DATE WITH DEATH

Death sucks. It’s boring, and there’s no chance of getting laid. Stuck in the waiting room of Heaven, Maise fantasizes about all the pleasures of the flesh she didn’t get to experience. When she discovers a business card for the dating service, 1Night Stand, she wonders if there’s still a chance.

Reece normally wouldn’t consider being set up, but after his brother buys him a certificate, he feels obligated. A romantic night on the Southern California coast, with the full-of-life Maise leaves him wanting more.

Will a 1Night Stand be enough to overcome death?
