Along with day 3 of the Ravencraft’s Valentine’s Blogfest, today kicks off the start of the Vampires for Valentine’s BogHop! It’s a round-up of love!
With the theme of firsts, today we’re talking first dates. Seal Beach, seafood and a romantic walk along the pier encompassed my first date with hubby. As we sat in the cool sand, I buried my feet and gazed into the setting sun. At that moment, I didn’t know how important the man next to me would become in my life. Yet, with every first date – there’s always that thrill of potential.
Here’s an excerpt from my m/m paranormal novella The Vampire & The Werewolf: A New Orleans Christmas. On their first night out together, Lawrence takes Trevor to Pirates Alley, where he introduces Trevor to the allure of absinthe.
Lawrence took another sip, letting the licorice-flavored liquid rest against his tongue in a gentle caress before swallowing. Oh, yes, the silky feeling begins. He’d spent more than one memorable night tucked in the back of the bar, afterhours, with Ms. Sarah. Tonight, though, he hoped Trevor let go of some of his inhibitions.
He shifted his leg under the bar, moving it so it rested ever so slightly against Trevor’s warm thigh. At the touch, the were looked down at their legs, but didn’t move away. A pulse of exhilaration shot through Lawrence. To feel like this, after all his time on earth … that meant something.
Available via Amazon, and other e-retailers.

Walking along a pier is one of my favorite things to do for some reason. I love gazing out at a lake or ocean - though where I live there is only fresh water and short little piers, but I've been to the east coast a few times. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck in both blog hops. I've not heard of the vampire one but it sounds fun!
Can't resist those vampires! Thanks for the excerpt!

Louisa,
ReplyDeleteWow. What a great Vampires for Valentine's excerpt, and it qualifies for both hops. Good on you!! I'll bet your little fingers are sore to the bone!
I love that ditty about you and your hubby at Seal Beach. Ah, when the world was new and everything was just beginning to flower for us. Thanks for those great memories on loan...
Even though it was OH so many years ago, I still remember my first official date with my hubby. I never imagined we'd still be together almost 25 years later!
