Are you
superstitious? Like the dark and spooky? Some people like Christmas, and others
like Valentine’s. Me? It’s Halloween,
which is why I was all over this hop with Heather Long.
So are you ready
for a Trick? Here are 13 reasons to love Halloween.
13. The Miniature
Candy without too much guilt.
12. Monstober – and only moms
with younger kids will probably understand.
11. In SoCal,
the weather turns perfect – not too hot and not too cold. But, you have to
watch out for the Santa Anas.
10. Black is one
of my favorite (non)colors.
9. Bobbing for apples.
8. Not having to
dust the spider webs off your house.
7. It’s author Lex Valentine’s birthday, and she’s
pretty cool.
6. October
really kicks off the holiday season.
5. Visiting the
pumpkin patch. (No innuendo there.)
4. Homemade
pumpkin seeds with lots of salt.
3. Hocus Pocus is the best Halloween film.
2. Nightmare Before Christmas is a kick-ass
film.
1. The costumes
– Who doesn’t want to dress as a fantasy for a day … or two, or a week?
Take a look at my new 1Night Stand, A Dance with Death:
She’s a classic…
After recovering from an injury and uncertain of her future in the world of dance, ballerina Isabella treats herself to a dating service–some frolicking between the sheets before she decides what to do with the rest of her life is just the jeté her heart and mind needs.
He’s a bit more modern…
A successful music video choreographer, Raul is constantly surrounded by gorgeous dancers. But his life lacks a vitality and depth he needs to fuel his creative passion. He turns to a 1Night Stand to discover inspiration.
A dance between life and death…
When an accident threatens to cancel the evening of romance, Isabella and Raul will have to dance to a new beat. Can a dance with death change fate?
The tour has some amazing prizes. Check them out, and make sure to enter via Rafflecopter.

And you must have REALLY big spiders for outside!
DeleteI love the taste of a pumpkin spice latte because the weather in Texas can be so hit or miss this time of year, we can be festive and cool or boiling and hot. Still, it's so much fun! Thanks for joining us on the hop Louisa!
ReplyDeleteThere was a foodie show recently, and the promo was -- "we'll tell you how to make pumpkin spice." Missed it!
DeleteYour 13 reasons to love Halloween are great.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the costumes, caramel apples and candy in general. I've never been one to like scary movies but I do like Hocus Pocus and watching the Charlie Brown Halloween movie with my kids.
Thanks :)

Not a scary movie fan myself, either. I hear you!
DeleteWe don't really celebrate Halloween over here, but I wish we were, because I'd love to dress up into one of the fun costumes.

You'll have to come up with another reason!
DeleteHave to go with #13, of course! Love the cover of A Dance with Death and the excerpt is great! Another 1Night Stand for the TBR list!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? With the 200th anniversary this week, I think I'll be picking up a few more Taryn.
DeleteI totally agree with #13,11, and 3! I live in SoCal too, and love the weather this time of year (but sometimes it does get whacky) and I watch Hocus Pocus every. single. year. love the movie, it never gets old. :)

I love Hocus Pocus!! I saw it in theaters on opening day when I was a kid!!! n.kuhn.acn@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHehe, I agree with all your 13 reasons. Especially 13, love me some miniatures. It's so fun seeing all the little kids dressed up and excited. My kids are grown now but they love dressing up and scaring the trick or treaters that come to the door so its still a blast.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.

We love the candy and watching horror movies.
ReplyDeletemagic5905 at embarqmail dot com
I love your list :) I'd have to say I can agree with most of those things :) Except #13. Maybe if I only ate one or two, but I find the candy, munch on it, and before I know it, the whole stinkin' bag/bowl is gone. Then I feel EXTRA guilty, small or not! lol
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing and for a wonderful giveaway :)

Your list is wonderful. Who can go wrong with have a couple of those little candy bars? Also the dusting part, why didn't I ever think of that? LOL! And yes, Hocus Pocus is the greatest!

I'm not that superstitious, but my culture practices All Soul's Day every November 2nd (as well as All Saint's Day on the 1st) so I respect that.
