    1. Definitely a blast to watch. I've met some women who play Derby, and you think, "I can see that." And then others and I'm like, "Really?" You never know!

  3. I have never heard of roller derby, but it sounds exciting and scary. I had to re-read when I realised your characters had wings, which really gives it a twist. I am looking forward to reading much more.

    1. I definitely thought I need to make that more obvious while I was editing ... Thanks for the feedback.

  5. My favorite paranormal/sci-fi lately has been just about about anything with supes. I liked that your story had fairy-shifters as that is not something you read about everyday. I have only read two f/f books since I participated in the Winter Hop. I like expanding my horizons and honestly they were both hot. Thanks for participating. laurah2727@yahoo.com. VIP

  6. Really enjoyed your story. My favorite paranormal/scifi recently has been the alien stealing women from earth because they need to continue their species. They are always dominant but also learn to bend a little. Thanks.

  12. I love shifter tales, primarily featuring wolves, big cats, and bears. However, I like them all. I used to be really into vampires, so those are still amongst my favorites as well.

  20. As a former roller derby girl just wanted to tell you that you rock and loved this. :)
Favorites are the enemies to lovers stories, especially cross species ones. Their is always a lot of hot scorching sexual tension which I love.

  23. I am far too wimpy for roller derby. I'd cover my eyes and fret that someone would get hurt.

Doesn't it feel odd to skate instead of fly?

I keep asking for a story about a spanking witch, but no one will write one for me. :D

  24. I like a paranormal action book with some good sex wrapped up in it. I'm partial to shifters and nulls, but I do read everything voraciously. I love the inclusion of roller derby in this piece. :)

  25. I love the "Mars Needs Women" trope lately, but shapeshifters are a close second to hot aliens!

  27. This is really an interesting concept. I never really looked at a Derby as something that could be sexual.
My favorite paranormal is shifters. ambercole04@gmail.com

  28. Wow, so much action in this story! Hmm, I have not read any paranormal stories yet... but sci-fi, I think I prefer the ones with space travels because it reminds me of the video games I play :) I think a lot of the sci-fi I read borders on thrillers too. Anything with an interesting concept in the story appeals!

  29. I'm definitely not a roller derby type of gal, though I used to ice skate. I like vampires and shifters, but the fairy folk intrigue me, though they're more fantasy than paranormal, I think. Enjoyed your story, Louisa.

  30. I like vampires, but i need some good spanking scenes in it!

  31. OMG ROLLER DERBY!! Do you know how long it's been since I've watched Roller Derby? Wow, did this bring it back. And Rumor and Shell--I was glad it ended up that way.

I'm a huge paranormal fan and I can't pick just one. I like 'em all. ;)

Thank for the great read, Louisa. And thanks for reminding me how much I love Roller Derby!

  32. I actually do work for a Derby team, they really do have quite the attitude when on the track but a lot of them are very kind while not in the match. Then again there are some I would not want to meet in a dark alley either ;). Great story! Thanks for sharing! Thecoverartisan@gmail.com

  34. If we are talking about sci-fi/paranormal my all time favorite are vampires, because they seem to be some of the most dominant out there. I now have roller derby frenzy thanks to this excerpt loved it thank-you

  35. I love shifters, especially when the author uses non-human animals other than the most common and/or sets up the "rules" of how they shift, mate etc in a way very unique to their story-world. finian0178 at gmail dot com . VIP Amb w

  36. What a fun read. I loved it. I remember watching roller derby on television every week when I was a kid and am excited about the resurgence. I was disappointed that the story ended way too soon. I wanted so much more. You made me smile. Nurse Myra.
