How do you like your fiction? I'm thrilled to introduce debut author Kenzie Mack, who's offering readers a different type of choice. I remember these books from my childhood quite well, and the adult version sounds delicious.
I'm personally giving away a gifted copy of Kenzie's book via Amazon. Please leave a comment with a valid email address and on Sunday, April 6, I'll pull one winner to gift a copy.
Reader’s
choice isn’t new to fiction. Perhaps as
a child you read some of the Choose Your Own Adventure series. This line of books was hugely popular in the ’80s and ’90s. It allowed the reader to
take on the role of the lead character and make decisions.
My adult
reader’s choice is somewhat different.
When the alpha wolf in this wild shifter series is revealed, the reader
decides if it will be a She-Wolf or He-Wolf.
Why offer a
choice? Perhaps some writers can’t
decide which story line they prefer. For
me it was simple. I sat at my computer
and out came two love options for my leading man. Rather than start up a love triangle. I wrote two story lines. Further into the editing process, the idea of
offering a reader the choice of how hot they wanted the story to be took shape.
Moon
Shadows is the first in a series. You
can follow John’s story arc with a She-Wolf or a He-Wolf or read both. You can also choose to skip the Hotness
scenes if those aren’t your thing. Each
book starts with a few chapters that move the story along. Then the fork appears in the path. When the story steams up, more hyper-links
come in. You can enjoy the sauna of
hotness or pass and move to where the story merges once again.
Reader’s
choice is all about giving the reader control.
For the writer, it is about taking a character or story line you find intriguing
and turning it in another direction.
Letting your imagination run wild.
The story
grows from book to book and other pack members are introduced. Where will John’s choices lead? That remains to be seen. But you can count on the journey offering you
plenty of options, suspense, hotness and barbeque ribs. Okay, that last one you will have to make
yourself. But I hope you’ll give this
reader’s choice a chance. It’s all up to
you.
Author Bio
Kenzie Mack
is a recent transplant from Ohio to California.
The mid-west suffered their worst winter in one hundred years, making
this the best time to time to have relocated.
Her heart goes out to her friends and family still enduring the
occasional snowfall. Kenzie mistook the
recent drought for part of the sunny Cali climate packet. Recent rain has shown there can be gray days
here. But she doesn’t miss the snow.
A lifelong
lover of reading and writing, Kenzie decided it was time to take the indie path. The short story or novella Moon Shadows has
just over twelve thousand words. This
story went quickly through Ellora’s Cave submissions. However, it languished at the requisitions
stage. Inspired by RWA self-pubbed
authors, Kenzie took the plunge into publishing in 2014.
The road
wasn’t easy. Finding a great cover
artist, an editor and formatter, along with the other aspects needed for the
production of a book brought tears, aggravation and sleepless nights. The learning pains were many, but moving
forward should be smoother.
Would she
do it again? You, betcha.
The second
book in her moon series is slated for a June release. If you’ve never tried a reader’s choice tale,
please consider this one.
Thank you
for stopping by and supporting an indie author.

MOON SHADOWS
What starts out as a routine jog becomes a run-in with fear,
when John is surrounded by a pack of larger than life wolves. He doesn’t have to time to wonder how the
creatures arrived in non-wolf country, California. They don’t look friendly and he would like to
stay alive.
This story is an adult tale.
It offers the reader a choice to pick this strange pack’s alpha. Is it a She-Wolf or a He-Wolf?
How steamy do you like your stories? This book places the heat level at your
discretion. Read John’s journey in its
entirety. Or skip past the hotness to
the happily for now. Reader’s Choice
puts the control in your hands. Enjoy reading
the way you like it. Or try it with a
twist.

I always loved reading my brother's Choose Your Own Adventure books, though I always became frustrated when I picked wrong! I think a hot, romance adaptation of the format sounds really really cool, especially with the gender option! Keep up the innovative work ^_^
