Safe. If only she knew. Alone now with Marcus, she remained still, afraid to shift even the slightest bit or else she’d be thigh to thigh against him again. This time he moved though and placed his hand on her leg. She jumped.

“It’s good to see you again after so long, Jules.”

“Umm, you, too.”

Light fingers stroked upward, shifting her skirt to swirl along her bare skin. “You ever think about me over the years?”

“Occasionally,” she croaked out. What could she tell him? Any minute the lights could pop back on and Charles could find them together. The illicit thought sent a shiver through her body and a warmth pooled between her legs. More than anything, though, even more telling, she didn’t knock his hand away or reject his advances. “How long are you going to be staying in the area?”

“I’ve thought about moving back. It all depends upon what’s holding me here.”
